 March 8, 2008 The Bargain Center hosted the Christian News Ministry Expo 2008-- this was the second time the event was at the Bargain Center.   The expo had food, booths, seminars and music. 

 

February 15 to March 8, 2008  Gateway Chiropractic held the fourth annual "Fill the Fridge" campaign helping to bring awareness to the Chippewa Valley about the need for food for meal preparation for the men and women of the Ruth House and Men's Shelter. Dr Craig Tarini and Joe Neville appeared on WQOW and Dr. Craig Tarini and Mel Jenson appeared on WEAU to promote the event.  March 18th Festival Foods hosted the conclusion of the project at the store to encouraged the community to get involved.

 

Christmas Banquet-2006 051.jpgDecember 22, 2007: Once again we celebrated the Christmas holiday with a festive meal for community members.

 

November 22, 2007: Hope Gospel Mission hosted the Great Thanksgiving Day Banquet. This has become an annual Mission meal.

October 1, 2007: The Annual Lifeline of Hope fundraising banquet was held at the Ramada Inn.  It was announced that next years banquet we will be celebrating 10 years since the doors opened.

May 11 and 12, 2007:  Hope Gospel Mission along with Good News Jail and Prison Ministry presented Pam Russell with a training seminar from Almond Tree Ministry.  It is with a faith based alternative to substance abuse counceling. It was attented by 48 people.

 April 7, 2007: The First Hope Gospel Mission Easter Dinner was held.  We served over 175 community members. 

pic_news2.jpgFebruary 28, 2007: Mission Director Gary Steward and Dr. Craig from Gateway Chiropractic Center visited with Judy Clark on Newscenter 13 at 10am They discussed the launch of Gateway Chiropractic Center's Third Annual "Fill the Fridge Food Drive" and encouraged the community to get involved.


Christmas Banquet-2006 051.jpgDecember 23,2006:  Hope Gospel Mission celebrateed the birth of our Savior by hosting a Christmas dinner open to the public.  278 meals were served.


November 23, 2006:  The Great Thanksgiving Day Banquet was held here at Hope Gospel Mission and was covered by both local TV stations.



October 2006:  Building Hope Building Materials Re-Use Center held its Grand Opening.  The event was covered by local TV stations.


October 5, 2006:  Hope Gospel Mission held its Fifth Annual Life Line Of Hope Banquet fundraising event.


 

July 31, 2006: WQOW aired a story which disscussed the current heat wave and the effects it was having on the homeless. Executive Director Gary Steward commented on what the Mission is doing to help those turning to it during the heat wave.




June 3, 2006: Leader-Telegram featured an article discussing the recent partnership between the Bargain Center and North High School. The Bargain Center had purchased the wood materials needed for students at the High School to construct 20 hand-made wood stools. The stools were then given to HGM to sell at the Bargain Center. May 18, 2006: WQOW aired a story discussing the current "Don't Dump it, Donate it" campaign between the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the Bargain Center. Students are encouraged to donate household goods that they might normally just be throwing out to the Bargain Center.




May 17, 2006: WQOW aired a story discussing a recent partnership between the Bargain Center and North High School. The Bargain Center purchased wood for a special education class to construct stools, which are now being sold at HGM's Bargain Center.




May 16, 2006: Front Page story in Wisconsin Christian News. The story focuses on Ruth House but also gives in depth information about the programs and services offered at both shelters. Paper runs from mid-May to mid-June 2006.




April 16, 2006: Leader Telegram ran a front page article sharing the story and success of former Hope Gospel Mission resident, Alvin Davis. The article discussed how Hope Gospel Mission helped Alvin and how he now gives back to the community and those around him.




March 16, 2006: WEAU aired a story about homeless protection in the Eau Claire area. The story interviewed representatives from Hope Gospel Mission, the Beacon House, and the Eau Claire Police Department. The story discussed the different services available for homeless individuals.




February 28, 2006: Gary Steward and Brent Hafele appeared on NewsCenter 13 Today to discuss the issues of hunger and homeless in Western Wisconsin. They also discussed what HGM is currently doing to help the homeless in this area.
