Our Services at a Glance
Our shelters are warm and homey, and this comfortable atmosphere rests upon a strongly structured routine to help residents break the habit(s) that keep them from being the men and women God intended. Residents experience Christian care, are able to retrieve themselves from destructive living and, most importantly, learn the Gospel message. Many residents commit themselves to Christ for the first time while at the Mission. Others recommit themselves after having “walked away” from a faith which they had had in earlier years. Some leave without making that commitment but do so later. All leave Hope Gospel Mission having been helped. All potential residents must have an admission interview prior to being admitted to one of our programs. Those interested should contact a night manager after 5:00 p.m. to set up this admission interview. Please review the Men’s and Women’s Shelter pages for appropriate contact information. What Causes Homelessness? Homelessness is caused by a number of factors, and clearly, every person’s situation is different. A critical financial or health problem, loss of work, lack of a supportive family network, or overwhelming addictions can remove the underpinnings that hold lives together and homelessness becomes reality. The problem of homelessness is caused either by circumstances beyond one's control or by poor personal choices—usually both.At Hope Gospel Mission, we work with each of our residents to help them overcome their individual problems. Through our services, we provide them the necessary support and resources whereby, if willing, they can become productive members of society. |
