Taxpayer rebate$ could benefit nonprofits

The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 (ESA) doesnt include provisions specifically designed to encourage charitable giving. Several polls have indicated that 3% - 4% of Americans plan to use the tax rebates provided for under ESA for charitable purposes.  If 3% - 4% of these funds are given it translates to millions of potential gifts totaling billions of dollars by U. S. citizens over the next months. While nonprofit organizations are a potential beneficiary of these extra gifts, it is indicated that those who ask for, or suggest, these gifts will be the greatest beneficiaries.

Many taxpayers will spend or save their rebate.  Persons who have continued to give under current economic conditions, however,  may be most likely to give.  If you are one of the over 130 million people who will be receiving the one-time tax rebate, we ask you to consider a small portion of that rebate be donated to Hope Gospel Mission.  Thank you.

The atmosphere at the mission(and the Ruth House) is one of hominess with a strongly structured routine to help residents break the habit(s) which keep them from being the men and women God intended them to be.

 DONATION OPPORTUNITIES

The New Year is a time for evaluating whether it might be advantageous to donate that vehicle, boat or RV that is taking up valuable space. There can be significant tax advantages to doing so. Consult your tax adviser and for details on donating to Hope Gospel Mission's Auto Sales click here.
